Urban regeneration

Student accommodation that brings buildings, streets and neighbourhoods back into use — and puts students at the centre of the city.

Mbombela overview

A lot of people in a small space

Mbombela Local Municipality is an administrative area in the Ehlanzeni District of Mpumalanga, South Africa. Mbombela is a siSwati name meaning “a lot of people in a small space”.

Ligcabho takes existing houses and buildings across the city and brings them back into productive use as managed, accredited student residences — keeping students close to campus, close to transport and close to the shops, instead of pushed to the edge of town.
