Tenant Zone
Everything a Ligcabho student needs in one place — the lease, the house rules, the emergency list, maintenance turnaround times and the LVL UP packs.
Your lease
Read and sign your lease agreement digitally. It sets out your rent, your deposit and the notice you must give.
House rules
Eleven policies covering noise, visitors, smoking, parking and the care of the building — the ground rules of shared living.
Emergency list
Who to call, day or night — the residence line, SAPS, ambulance, the hospital and the national support lines.
Report maintenance
All maintenance goes in the book at the front desk. Toilets, locks, stoves and showers carry a 12-hour response time.
LVL UP packs
Kitchen pack R700, bedding pack R600 — order before you arrive and move in with a bag instead of a bakkie.
House committee
Students elect two representatives each year. Take your issues to them and they take it to the house warden.
Something broken?
Log it and you get a ticket number the house warden works from — and the office can see how long it has been open. The maintenance book at the front desk stays the official record.
- 12 hours: water wastage, globes, toilets, locks, unusable showers, stoves
- 36 hours: carpets, tiles, hydroboilers, basins, taps, flush masters, shower doors
- Emergencies, day or night: call 071 640 1574 first

The things students ask in the first week
Wi-Fi vouchers
Issued once your lease is signed, and again at the start of the second term. Ask the house warden if yours has not come through.
Room inspections
Twice a month. Complete your room occupation inspection list within 48 hours of receiving your lease so existing damage is not charged to you.
Cleaning
Cleaners come in once a day for common areas, bathrooms and kitchens — student rooms are excluded, and service is limited on weekends.
Sleepovers
R135 per person for a scheduled sleepover with proof of payment, R200 per visitor if it was not scheduled.
Still have a question?
The office is open Monday to Friday, and the assistant never closes.
